Fifth Wednesday Journal is an independent literary print magazine published twice yearly by Fifth Wednesday Books, Inc., a nonprofit organization based in Lisle, Illinois. Committed to the idea that contemporary literary and photographic arts are essential components of a vibrant and enduring culture, we publish those writers and visual artists who most effectively contribute to this mission. The unique range of literature and photography in each issue is both entertaining and intellectually meaningful for a wide spectrum of readers.
We recognize the value and new opportunities presented by online delivery of literature to a wide and discriminating audience. We are committed to using digital technology to expanding our mission.
We welcome contributions of short fiction, poetry, essays, interviews, book reviews, and black and white photography.
Editors of Fifth Wednesday Journal organize and participate in readings and workshops in public libraries, booksellers, and writers’ groups. If you think we are meeting our goals, please tell your friends and your favorite booksellers about us.
Fifth Wednesday Books, Inc., is a nonprofit 501c3 organization. Donations are welcome and they are tax-deductible.
